PLAY SCHEDULE AND DISCIPLINE As a home away from home our day revolves around the interest
of the children; I do feel that routine is necessary for all of us. We encourage children to pick
up after themselves, also to help each other and take part in some household activities, such as helping with food preparation.
We encourage sharing, creativity and taking turns. We take a positive approach to discipline, one that is consistent with
the age and needs of a child. We find redirecting a child to another, more appropriate activity, direct or indirect praise,
and teaching by example, and logical consequences usually resolve the situation. These techniques also give children time
to think about their actions.
